[1] An increased chance of above-average rainfall across Southernmost
Philippines (Southern Mindanao).
La Niña conditions are expected to continue
dominatethe pattern of tropical convection & result in generally wet conditions
across much of the specified region. Confidence: MODERATE.

[2] An increased chance of drier and hot conditions with possible light
rainfall across Northern and Central Philippines due to High Pressure
Area off Philippine Sea.
Confidence: HIGH.

Typhoon2000 Philippine Tropical Outlook
For Week: MARCH 24-30, 2008 [MONDAY TO SUNDAY]

[1] An increased chance of above-average rainfall across Central and
Southern Philippines.
La Niña conditions are expected to slowly dominate
the pattern of tropical convection & result in generally wet conditions across
much of the region. Confidence: MODERATE.

[2] The passage of Mid-Latitude Frontal System over Southern Japan
& strong High Pressure Area over China may bring strong & cool north-
easterly winds accompanied with some rainshowers along Northern
& Central Philippines (from Batanes down to Bicol & Northern Visayas).

This wind system is commonly known as the Northeast (NE) Monsoon which
started in November and ends in late March.
Confidence: LOW.

& Central Philippines.
La Niña conditions and the potential slightly enhanced
wet-phase of the MJO is expected to result in bringing slightly higher rainfall
in this area. Above average sea surface temperatures in some areas will also
contribute to enhance rainfall. Confidence: LOW.

[2] The passage of Mid-Latitude Frontal System over Southern Japan
& strong High Pressure Area over China may bring strong & cool north-
easterly winds accompanied with some rainshowers along Northern
