  • Tropical Storm MUJIGAE (MARING) now off the coast of Northern Vietnam...landfall expected this morning.

    *Residents and visitors along Northern Vietnam should closely monitor the progress of MUJIGAE.

    *Kindly refer to your local warnings & bulletins issued by your country's official weather agency. This advisory is intended for additional information purposes only.


    + Forecast Outlook: MUJIGAE's is expected to make landfall over Northern Vietnam this morning and dissipate tonight until tomorrow.

    + Effects: MUJIGAE's main circulation continues to spread across Northern Vietnam. Tropical storm conditions can be expected throughout the evening along the affected areas. 1-day rainfall accumulations of 200 up to 300 mm can be expected along MUJIGAE's rainbands.

    + Tropical Cyclone Watch:

    (1) Tropical Disturbance 91W (LPA) remains strong over the Philippine Sea and has reconsolidated to the east of Central Luzon...currently located near lat 15.1 lon 126.0E...or about 250 km NE of Virac, Catanduanes...with 1-min maximum sustained winds of 40 kph...forecast to move NW @ 20 kph towards Northern Luzon.

    (2) Tropical Disturbance 93W (LPA) continues to develop east of Guam...may become a Tropical Depression today...currently located near lat 13.4N lon 154.4E...or about 1,040 km East of Guam...with 1-min maximum sustained winds of 35 kph...moving West @ 11 kph.

    These systems is likely to develop into Tropical Cyclones within the next 06 to 24 hours. LPA 91W is then expected to bring widespread rains across the rest of Luzon, Metro Manila and Northern Visayas today - becoming more frequent over the Bicol Region. Kindly click the cool

    REMARKS: 2 AM (18 GMT) 12 SEPTEMBER POSITION: 19.8N 106.8E.
    ^ANIMATED INFRARED IMAGERY INDICATES THAT THE DEEP
    CONVECTION IS BEING SHEARED TO THE WEST, LEAVING THE LOW LEVEL
    CIRCULATION CENTER (LLCC) DECOUPLED AND PARTIALLY EXPOSED. THE
    CURRENT INTENSITY OF 30 KNOTS IS BASED ON THE AVERAGE OF DVORAK
    ESTIMATES FROM PGTW (T1.5/2.5) AND RJTD (T2.0). THE CURRENT POSITION
    IS BASED ON THE PGTW POSITION FIX IN CONCERT WITH THE ANIMATED
    INFRARED IMAGERY DEPICTING THE PARTIALLY-EXPOSED LLCC. TD MUJIGAE
    WILL CONTINUE TO TRACK WESTWARD ALONG THE SOUTHERN PERIPHERY OF THE
    SUBTROPICAL RIDGE AND WILL MAKE LANDFALL IN VIETNAM AROUND 120000Z...
